additive manufacturing \ 3d printing

I am looking to discover the properties of different 3d filaments after the shape has been printed.  So far Nylon seems adequate but maybe heavier than it needs to be..  I hope to work with a local company to get about ten pieces printed to test the prints using different media and test the various collapse rates as well as thermal distortion.  I suppose this isn’t overly exciting to anyone else but I have been dreaming up this project for a decade plus now so I hope to figure out all the details.  My first thoughts on this were that it would be impossible to use injection or blow molding because the draft angles were too complex.  Additive manufacturing is pretty much the only method.
