Project Intent - Create vehicular and pedestrian access to span available 15' entry in a manner that will last decades with daily use and remain usable by children or elderly throughout.
Process - Select materials, plan for future wear and inclement weather, provide security and most importantly ease of access for large trucks with equipment/materials or single pedestrian accessibility. Steel with zinc coating was selected as the base material and framework because of its longevity. A turnbucklesystem using wirefeed welding and allthread to provide adjustability. Pin hinges are used due to the simplicity and loose tolerance. the frame of the gate is simple tubed fencing clad with standard pickets.
Status - Completed; swings easily with twice daily use after five years.
